The first and foremost thing is to wash your motorcycle properly. It's really important for you to wash every inch of your bike, not only a quick wash. Making sure that there is no dirt grease and grime left over. Make sure to buy a very good quality cleaner made specific for bikes as well as the proper tools and brushed to along with it. Always use a nice smooth brush or cloth to make sure that you don't scratch the finish.

Make sure to remove any rust from the bike. Once that is finished you should repaint and add some lubricant to the area to prevent it from getting worse in the future.

Once you have done the above successfully, you should dry your bike very carefully and then apply a good wax to it. You can buy motorcycle wax in any shop; you do not have to go to specialty shop for it. To wax well, make sure to apply two coats of wax, and polish it well, if you do all of this, your motorcycle will be looking like new and shiny!
